The murder, assassination, martyrdom of Charlie Kirk combined with the unhinged reaction of so many on the left lead me to the following conclusions.
God’s modus operandi is about taking the broken and mending it. He is in the fixing business.
There is a direct correlation between your thoughts and your character. What we think about throughout the day shapes us so much that we will become what we think.
Before I get to the heart of this post, let me beat you to the punch and say what you’re probably thinking. I’m a pastor, so I go to church because it’s my job and I’m paid to show up on Sunday morning.
God knew the sins you would commit before you became a believer, and He knew the ones you would commit after you became a believer. He knew all the sin we would ever commit and He still chose you.
You can’t make sense of the early parts of Ecclesiastes if you haven’t read all the way to the end of Ecclesiastes. Likewise, you can’t really make sense of the end of Ecclesiastes if you haven’t read through the early chapters of Ecclesiastes.
Rather than starting with the question, “Will this honor God?” too many churches begin with the question, “Will this work, and will this produce results?”
As we come to the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, I pray that you know the good news of Jesus Christ. This good news is rooted in the truth about the one true God.
